Mind Warriors (Addlestone) CIC – Company No. 1717565

For the purposes of this policy, Mind Warriors (Addlestone) CIC will be shortened to MWA.
The purpose of this document is to set out how MWA will ensure all participants, including
volunteers, are treated with dignity and respect and fully included by MWA. Additionally, we will
uphold the Equality Act 2010, to ensure everyone with protected characteristics is included by MWA
making adjustments, such as online sessions or wheelchair accessible venues wherever possible. We
will treat everyone equally and fairly to ensure everyone is welcomed, to promote diversity within
MWA. MWA is committed to creating a community where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
This is across everything MWA does as an organisation and at the heart of what we do. The
protected characteristics referred to above are age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and
civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation. We will
ensure there is no direct or indirect discrimination, bullying, harassment etc, towards any
participants or volunteers. Such behaviours the opposite of MWA’s purpose as an organisation, and
we will not tolerate any behaviour that does not fit with our values.
We will also ensure all volunteers and directors receive up to date training to ensure everyone
representing MWA is aware of their roles and responsibilities.
We work with other organisations in ways that respect their values and promote equality diversity
and inclusion.
We will regularly review our policies, procedures, and practices to ensure they support equality,
diversity, and inclusion and any statutory changes to government policies.
If a participant believes they have been discriminated against, they can submit a complaint to a
director, who will decide how to proceed (please refer to the safeguarding and complaints policy).
Although complaints can be submitted up to 3 months later, any delay could mean we are unable to
investigate properly.
Any volunteer can signpost to a director’s contact information for complaints. MWA’s full complaint
details are within the safeguarding and complaints policy.
